Work Life & School Life

The thin line between both my work and school life is starting to show through. I feel like I need to put in more effort in and fix my time management. I find myself falling behind slowly and I'm not fond of it in the slightest. I blame my shortcomings on my work instead of just fixing the problem. As I'm just out of high school I don't have the sense of accomplishment others have and it gets to me. If any of you have advice to help me with this dilemma it would be greatly appreciated. I want to be able to advance my knowledge in this class. Its not that I have no interest I just need to find a better way to accomplish the work need in order to show my progress.

  1. Introspective and honest :-) It takes maturity and courage to objectively evaluate oneself and ask others for help!

From your comment at http://adielcruzavalos.blogspot.com/2018/09/in-my-career-field-we-get-lot-of-people.html?showComment=1537043457582#c5156698605601867989, you are a manager a Domino's. Though I have no knowledge, direct or otherwise, on your tenure at the national pizza chain, I would venture to say you worked your way up to it. Quite an accomplishment for someone just out of high school ^_^

There are only 24 hours in a day. Family, work, school, fun. Something will have be given up.

  2. I have not experienced this yet so I don't really know how to help but if you really are determined to, I believe you'll get through this phase :)

  3. I am also a full-time employee and a full-time student, and the only thing I can recommend is that you prioritize what you need to do over what you want to do. This includes taking time away from social life and trying your best to crunch down on spare time you can use towards work or homework. Hope you can figure everything out!

  4. That is good that you rationalized your situation, I understand working full time, school full time is no small task and I am sure you'll get this figured out. Good luck.

  5. I feel like it's just about sacrifice as it is about time management. As Professor Wu mentioned, there are only 24 hours in a day. You have to use that time wisely, but understand that you might not have room for everything you want to do. You might have to fight temptation, you might have to give up some sleep. But I think the main thing to remember and that you're doing all of this for a reason or several. Remember those reasons the next time your given the freedom to choose what you want to work on next.

  6. At least you are aware of the situation you are trying to fix. Just remember to think positive and always reduce any stress.

  8. Exactly like Mr. Wu said, "There are only 24 hours in a day. Family, work, school, fun. Something will have be given up." Although it sounds like a miserable idea that you have to give up something so important to you. You have to think about the greater outcome. If it was up to me my schedule would be work, gym, and family time. But I know what's at the end of this tunnel and what I'm working for. Stay focused and driven and you'll be at your dream job in no time.

  11. I know how you feel, sometimes it seems like all I do is sleep, eat, and work. As much as it would be nice to only focus on being a student, we don't always have the luxury of free time! Keep it up, we believe in you!

  12. Just try your best to manage your time.
